Building Teachers’ Capacity for Success

Wednesday & Thursday, April 20-21, 2016
Central Location in Sacramento, CA, with TWO networked locations in Washington State:
Willard Early Learning Center (Tacoma)
Whitworth University (Downtown Spokane Campus)
Based on the best-selling ASCD books, Building Teachers’ Capacity for Success, and Teach, Reflect, Learn, this institute, led by authors Pete Hall (winner of the 2004 ASCD Outstanding Young Educator Award) and Alisa Simeral, will provide participants with the tools, strategies, language, and mindset to support all teachers’ growth as reflective practitioners.
Research indicates that teacher quality is the number one determinant of student success, and it is time to put forth every effort to promote teacher growth. This collaborative two-day institute supports every role that supports teacher development:
  • Principals and other administrators will learn how to cultivate a school culture that values instructional coaching, continuous growth, rich feedback and professional dialogue.
  • Instructional coaches and teacher-leaders will discover the art of and strategies for providing individualized support to teachers in ways that address their unique needs.
  • Classroom teachers will identify and strengthen their patterns of thought in order to grow as reflective practitioners and take the reins of their own professional growth.
